Girls Scouts of America is celebrating their 100th anniversary! Can you believe it’s been 100th years, helping and teaching girl’s leadership, confidence, courage and values. This organization has been around since our grandmothers, great-grandmothers and even great-great grandmothers. Ourselves, a family member or even friends that we know have been a part of this organization.

We have all help out the Girl Scouts at one point or another; I can say I do every year by buying my favorite cookies. I bet all of you guys and girls do too!! Everyone loves the girls scout cookies and you can find them everywhere in mid-spring time when their cookies sales come out. I think I brought 10 boxes this year and gave some away in gift baskets.

The Girls Scouts of the Sierra Nevada is having a celebrating for their 100th Anniversary. It’s going to be at Peavine Pavilion in Reno starting at 9:00am. This is an all-day even which goes on until 5:30pm. They are having so many fun events, that if you can go in the morning, you can catch some of their events in the afternoon.

What is Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada?
The goal of Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada is clearly stated in our mission — to help girls build courage, confidence and character who make the world a better place. To accomplish this goal, we work every day to provide a quality leadership experience for girls and volunteers, so that we can all contribute to the advancement of young women. Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada is the preeminent organization for and leading authority on girls, serving over 4,500 girls with assistance from 2,000 volunteers in 23 counties in northern Nevada and eastern California.

In partnership with committed adults, girls develop the values that will serve them throughout their lives; strong ethics, community service and a conviction about their self-worth.
